Breathe by *Jenngee is stunning and breathtaking, a true show of how beautiful nature can be in its simplicity.
PROS: The color palette is wonderful, the deep blues and contrasting oranges and reds drawing the eye to every bit of the picture. The reeds on the shoreline are dark and not really the center of attention, but give the picture a touch of realism. If it had just been the sea with those colors, it would have seemed nearly surreal. The purple blended with the blue of the water is almost surely due to the settings of the camera when the picture was taken, but I think it adds more depth and light to the water. I love the gradation and the way the water is so dark towards the horizon. The simplicity of the photo itself, just nature and ocean and sky, adds to the beauty and mystery.
CONS: Perhaps it's a trick from seeing a thumbnail rather than the full-size photo, but the sky is split into definitive colors. For example, it starts off as light blue towards the horizon, and then as you get farther from the horizon, there's very clear separating lines betwen colors. I do love the purple, but I believe it would look even better if it was slightly more subtle. Other than these two things, I see almost nothing wrong with it.
I adore this photo (I'm a big sucker for ocean shots), and your photo makes me want to go to Malaga Cove someday!
